Thatβs me up there in the photo on the leftβΠΡΡβage 7 in the Soviet Union, the year I left it. A part of me is still that little girl who obeyed the rules and followed orderβ¦who had no country for months, staying where she was permitted, while waiting for acceptance and support from elsewhere.
What a terrible thing it is to live under oppression. My family ran from it but my human family is still running.
And that little girl right now is with the little girls and boys in Ukraine.
